Easter Party Game Ideas

These Easter Party Game Ideas include a carrot scavenger hunt, pin the tail on fluffy, lame hen and a trip-hop-athon

Carrot Scavenger Hunt

Materials Needed:

  • Orange construction paper
  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Snacks

Method:

  • Cut out 20 carrots from orange construction paper and glue on the green construction paper tops.

  • "Plant" them all around the house--under sofa cushions, in the silverware drawer, or taped to the refrigerator door, for example.

  • Then send your kids around the house to gather all the carrots.

  • Let them redeem their carrots for snacks, such as a small box of raisins, a pack of gum, a bag of pretzels, or a piece of carrot cake.

Pin the Tail on Fluffy

This game is adapted from the traditional "pin the tail on the donkey" that we all played as children.

Materials Needed:

  • Poster board rabbit
  • Cotton Balls
  • Tape
  • Blindfold

Method:

  • Make a Rabbit on poster board without a tail. You can have your child help for a fun pre-Easter craft project.

  • Then have the children play "pin the tail" on the rabbit with the cotton balls.

Easter Scavenger Hunt - Easter Party Game Ideas

  • Instead of hunting for Easter eggs, have all the children scour the neighborhood looking for items on their scavenger list.

  • Older children can have more complicated items, while the younger children can look for small items in a close proximity to the house and backyard.

  • Whoever finds the most wins a prize!

Tri-hop-athon

  • Choose three backyard landmarks, such as a picnic table, a tree, and a large rock.

  • Have both teams line up at the same mark.

  • Start the contest. The first player must hop on one foot to the second mark, skip from there to the third mark, and then jump all the way back on two feet to tag the next teammate in line.

  •  The first team whose members have all completed the course wins.

Lame Hen

Materials Needed:

  • 20 sticks (2 feet in length)

Method:

  • Line up 10 sticks, each about 18 inches apart, like the rungs on a ladder. A few feet away, do the same thing with the other 10 sticks, making sure that each line begins and ends in the same place.

  • Teams line up about 15 feet behind the first stick.

  • At the "Go" signal, the first player on each team hops on one foot over each stick, all the while squawking like a lame hen (if this is too hard for the littlest hens, let them bunny hop on two feet).

  • At the end of the row, the hen picks up the last stick, hops with it back to the starting line, and places it so that it is first in line.

  • That's the signal for the next player to start hopping over the course.

  •  The first team to complete the circuit wins
