Halloween Crafts And Games Kids
Halloween crafts and games kids are easy and fun for the little ones. They will have a ball playing all of these games.
Witch's Stew
Materials Needed:
- Straws
- Construction paper
- Bowl
Method:
- Before the party, ask your kids to help you cut ten Halloween shapes, such as ghosts, bats and pumpkins from construction paper. Each shape should be about the size of a silver dollar. Place the shapes in a pile beside a small bowl.
- Using the straw as a vacuum, each contestant tries to pick up a shape and place it in the bowl to create the Witch's Stew. Time the players to see who can get all ten in the bowl the fastest.
- Cut out several sets of shapes and let the players race head to head.
Halloween Crafts And Games Kids 2 -Which is Witch?
Materials Needed:
- Cauldron (a bowl)
- Walnut shells (one fewer than the number of kids)
- Green or yellow paint
- Tally sheet
- Pen
- Witch's hat
Method:
- Halve and hollow out the walnut shells. Paint the inside green or yellow (one color inside each shell).
- Players sit in a circle, in the center of which is a cauldron with seven walnut halves (for a party with eight children) lying flat-side down inside it so no one can see the colors.
- The person who is "It" wears the witch's hat for dramatic effect. All the others pick a walnut half, keeping the color a secret.
- From his seat in the circle, "It" tries to guess the color of each child's walnut.
- As he goes from player to player, he gets help from the walnut holders, who try to help him psychically "see" their color by thinking hard about it (green, green, green...).
- After he guesses, right or wrong, each walnut holder reveals her color to him.
- An adult or older child sits nearby to tally up the number of rights, and then the game starts over with the next "It."
- When each player has had a turn at being "It," the player who had the power to "see" the most colors correctly wins.
- The witch's hat makes a great prize for the winner. We tried this with three colors but found that was too much of an odds challenge for our seers.
Halloween Crafts And Games Kids 3 - Pin the Wart on the Witch's Nose
Materials Needed:
- Homemade or store-bought picture of a witch
- Rubber cement
- Blindfolds
- Labels/stickers
Method:
- Hang the witch at kids' eye level on the wall.
- Wad up rubber cement into gumball-size warts (one for each player). If necessary, use a glue stick to make them stickier right before the game.
- Blindfolded, kids take turns trying to stick a wart on the witch's nose. You can use labels or stickers to keep track of whose wart is whose.
