- 10 Nickels

- 10 Quarters

- Depending on the age and skill level of your child, you may want to start by using just two different coins, until they have a better understanding of the coins and their values.
- Th object of the game is be the first player with 25 cents saved. Take turns rolling the dice. Each player gets the amount of pennies shown on the die. As each player accumulates 5 pennies or more, the 5 pennies are traded in for a nickel and so on.

- Next, tell your child that you are thinking of a coin and give them clues about that coin. For example, "I Spy" a coin that is silver, I spy a coin that has a building or eagle on it's back etc. Continue giving clues until they guess the right coin.

Guess The Coins
Materials Needed:
- Various Coins of different denominations
Method:
- Ask your child to gather some change in his or her hand without showing you what it is. (You'll probably want to start with amounts of 25 cents or less.)
- Ask your child to tell you how much money they have in their hand and how many coins there are. For example, "I have 12 cents and 4 coins, what coins could I have in my hand?" Practice guessing which coins they have in their hand (2 nickels and 2 pennies would be the answer).
