Thanksgiving Day Games For Kids

Thanksgiving Day Games For Kids can add to this time for family and friends to get together and enjoy one another's company. But any celebration is made better by games and games with the Thanksgiving theme can add to the fun. Here are a few Thanksgiving party game ideas to help you plan the perfect get-together for family and friends during this traditional holiday:

Cornucopia Turnover

  • Have players seated in a large circle.

  • Give each player a name that has to do with the holiday such as Turkey, Gravy, Potatoes, Pilgrim, Corn, Holiday, November, and so on.

  • Have one person call the game. When the caller says two names, those two players must quickly switch seats.

  • For example, if the caller says "Pilgrim and Corn", then those two player must jump up and swap seats.

  • Every once in a while during the game, the caller calls out "cornucopia turnover" and everyone must jump up and find another seat.

  • This game can entertain children for hours on end.

Turkey Hand Craft

  • Give each young person participating a piece of sturdy paper such as card stock.

  • Then have them place their non-dominant hand on the paper and draw carefully around it with a pencil.

  • Young children will require some adult help with this part.

  • Then give the children crayons and let them decorate their hand print into a turkey!

  • Every child loves this activity and they get a great picture to take home and show their friends.

Turkey Hunt

  • Print pictures of turkeys onto small note-sized cards or onto paper that you cut into card sizes.

  • Hide these pictures around the house in places that are not too difficult for younger participants to find.

  • Send the children on a turkey hunt, finding as many turkeys as they can in the time that you establish to play.

  • Give a small prize for the most turkeys "bagged" in the hunt.

The Thankful Game

  • This Thanksgiving Day Games For Kids is great for adults as well as children.

  • Have guests seated in a circle or other arrangement, perhaps around the table before food is served.

  • Starting with one guest and continuing around the circle until everyone has had a turn, allow each guest to tell at least one thing they are thankful for this day.

  • They may have quite a few to list and, if so, let them tell them all.

  • There isn't a time limit or rush and it's nice to realize how much we have to be thankful for each Thanksgiving.
