November Game 

Sung to: "Muffin man"

Give each child a Thanksgiving object such as corn, turkey feather etc.  As the item is named in the song, the children should respond as requested.

Oh, Do you have an ear of corn, an ear of corn, and ear of corn?

If you have an ear of corn, please stand up.

Oh, Do you have a turkey feather, a turkey feather, a turkey feather?

If you have a turkey feather, please stand up.

Oh, Do you have a pumpkin pie, a pumpkin pie, a pumpkin pie?

If you have a pumpkin pie, please stand up.

Oh, if you are very thankful, thankful, thankful?

If you are very thankful, please sit down!

Thanksgiving Games For Preschoolers - Turkey Bowling

Spray paint liter soda bottles with brown paint and add a face and feathers. Fill a 1/4 full of sand and the kids can do Turkey Bowling using a small ball! What fun!

The Turkey Hop  

Sung to: "The Bunny Hop"

Do the turkey hop

Do the turkey run

Do the turkey gobble

It's a lot of fun

Now flap your wings

Like the turkeys do

Then run from the farmer

Before he catches you!!

Students line up on one wall (they are the turkeys) and one student and I (we are the farmers) stand in the middle.  We say the poem and do the actions.  When we get to the end of the poem the "turkeys" run to the other side.  If one of the farmers touches them then they turn into farmers.  We play until there are only one or two turkeys left.

Cornucopia Catch 

This game requires a basket and at least five small plastic pieces of fruit or vegetables. 

The instructor stands with the basket in their hands while the children take turns throwing the pieces of produce into the basket, one at a time. 

This game is an excellent opportunity to practice hand-eye coordination, basic counting skills, names of fruits and vegetables and colors.
